St. Louis Park Tree Distribution 2012
Thank you for your interest in the St. Louis Park 2012 Tree Distribution made available through partnership between Tree Trust and the City of St. Louis Park. The ordering period for this distribution began on Monday, February 13. Orders will be taken until all trees are sold out. Quantities are limited.
PICK UP YOUR TREE INFORMATION:
Trees are $35 each and must be pre-ordered. They will be available for pick-up at the Tree Trust offices (2231 Edgewood Ave. S. in St. Louis Park) on Sat, May 5 from 8 am-12 noon or on Mon, May 7 from 5-7 pm. You must pick up your tree during these designated times. No exceptions.
THINGS TO CONSIDER:
- Only residents of St. Louis Park are eligible to participate in this program.
- You may order a maximum of three trees per property.
- It's the law to contact Gopher State One Call at least three days before digging (651-454-0002 or www.gopherstateonecall.org). They will mark buried utility lines for your safety.
- You may not plant your tree on the boulevard (between the sidewalk and street.)
- In order to reduce future problems, large shade trees (oak and birch) should be planted at least 30' away from nearby power lines, buildings and/or driveways.
- On March 27, 2012 at 7:00 PM, the City of St. Louis Park will host a tree workshop at City Hall, 5005 Minnetonka Blvd. To register, please contact Jim Vaughan at 952-924-2699.
- Trees must be picked up on either May 5 or May 7 during the designated times. No exceptions. If you are unable to pick up your tree, you can have someone else pick it up for you.
- Trees may be up to 10 feet tall, be sure to bring a suitable vehicle.
- A brochure detailing proper tree-planting methods will be available when you pick up your tree.
- Each tree will come equipped with a Plantra Tree Bark Protector to protect your young tree from wildlife browse, winter sun scald, lawn mower and/or weed whip damage. These guards should remain on your tree for at least the first three years.
- There will be NO REFUNDS for trees that are not picked up or do not survive after being removed from the pick-up location.
