Learning With Trees Expands to Southwestern Minnesota
With the help of the Coughlan Companies, headquartered in Mankato, Minnesota, Tree Trust has been given the opportunity to expand our Learning With Trees program to southwestern Minnesota.

Washington Elementary School, located in Mankato, has been selected to participate in the Learning with Trees program for the 2008-2009 school year. Washington's Green Team is composed of parents, teachers and of course, an enthusiastic principal. Plans for this year's event include:
- Installing benches to create an outdoor learning area which will be positioned on the northeastern side of the building
- Planting an arboretum "walk" south of the playground area
- Putting in a butterfly garden near the main entrance of the building for study as well as beautification
- Future plans for a sensory garden to be installed in the vicinity of the school's special education play area
The Washington Elementary Green Team is busy creating fundraisers for their school planting and celebration and looking forward to involving the entire Washington Elementary Community in their planting day.
