Learning with Trees
Tree Trust's Learning with Trees program helps schools develop permanent outdoor environmental learning areas on their school grounds to meet both educational and environmental goals. As part of the year-long program, students, teachers and administrators receive education and training about trees, their planting, benefits and maintenance and ongoing support for use of the area. More than Minnesota 160 schools have participated since the program began in 1992.
Learning with Trees schools receive help with:
- getting teachers, students, administrators, parents and community experts involved
- planning the outdoor learning area to meet your educational and environmental needs
- student education through Our Town Trees interactive exhibit
- resources for teachers with our Tree Trunk lesson guide and materials
- landscape plans, trees, shrubs, benches, bird feeders
- a school-wide planting day and celebration
- Ongoing maintenance advice and activities through Learning with Trees newsletter
